Treetops Resort Undergoes Renovation Before Ski Season
OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — “You can see we have new mattresses, box springs..." said Treetops Director of Rooms James Vanderveer as he showed off one of the newly renovated rooms. "New headboards, flat screen TV's now that are up on the wall.”
Of the 218 rooms in the resort, 185 have been renovated this summer, but the rooms are just one aspect of the $4.5 million renovation expected to be complete by December.
“Both lobbies of the Inn and Lodge are getting renovated as well," Vanderveer said. "Behind me you can see that they're working on the bar, the new lobby bar that's coming in here which will be fantastic for all our guests coming to checking in with.”
In addition to the rooms and lobbies, renovations are also being done in the hallways and on the exterior, and Vanderveer hopes guests returning this winter will enjoy the changes.
“I've been here for almost 15 years," Vanderveer said. 'We've renovated a couple times, this one is by far the biggest that we've done in the long time, or since I've been here... We're touching everything so its gonna be a brand new place when people come back to see us.”
The 185 rooms were completed in August, and Vanderveer says he expects the rest of the project to be finished by mid December.
