Twelve-year-old boys may be responsible for string of break-ins in Cadillac
Two twelve-year-old boys will be cited into probate court to face multiple charges of home invasion.
While investigating a report of a possible weapon in the Mackinaw Trail Middle School, officers discovered electronics reported missing from local homes.
Officers linked the weapon, which turned out to be an air-soft pellet gun, and the missing electronics to two separate home invasion cases, which took place on the 100 and 200 block of Marble Street in Cadillac.
Police say the twelve-year-old boys would knock on doors, pretending to offer lawn mowing services, and if no one answered they would enter the homes.
The students were turned over to their parents' custody. Their names are not being released due to their age.
The investigation is ongoing.
