A crash involving two cars closed the intersection of Cedar Run and Gray Road in Grand Traverse County and killed an 89-year-old man.
The crash occurred around 6:40 AM.
According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office, a car driven by an 89-year-old Traverse City man was southbound on Gray Road when it failed to stop at the stop sign and went into Cedar Run Road. It then hit a SUV traveling east, driven by a 26-year-old Lake Ann woman.
The man was able to communicate with emergency personnel at the crash scene but later died.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
The intersection reopened around 9:30 AM.
