Two killed when semi-truck and car collide on US-131

Two people were killed in a crash that shut down US-131 in Kalkaska County for hours Monday morning.
According to the Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office, Timothy James Driscoll, 20, and Cheryl Kay Driscoll, 47, both of Livonia, were killed when the Saturn Driscoll was driving failed to stop at the intersection of Plum Valley and US-131, pulling in front of a semi-truck.
The semi truck was unable to avoid hitting the car, killing both Timothy, who was driving, and Cheryl, who was a passenger in the back seat. The semi-truck then lost control, hitting a Chrysler mini-van.
Timothy Almas, of Livonia, who was in the back seat of the Saturn, is in critical condition at Munson Medical Center.
The occupants of the Chrysler mini van, Kathryn Nixon, 54, and Clark Bowman, 62, are both in stable condition at Munson Medical Center.
The driver of the semi-truck, 48-year-old Daniel Dingee, of Gaylord, was treated and released with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office.
