Two masked suspects stole food from Mancelona Middle School

Two male suspects stole food from the cafeteria at Mancelona Middle School late Tuesday evening.

Two male suspects stole food from the cafeteria at Mancelona Middle School late Tuesday evening.

According to Antrim County Sheriff Daniel Bean, the two men entered the school through the art room area on the west side of the building.

One of the suspects put a multi-colored foil mask over his face, while the other used two pieces of newspaper to conceal his identity.

The suspects entered the hallway and walked to the kitchen before entering the cafeteria across the hall. The taller male suspect went upstairs and ran into an employee that was working late. The smaller suspect left the cafeteria through the side door carrying food taken from the kitchen.

The taller man ran down the hallway and exited through the art room.

Both suspects are considered "school age" but the witness was unable to tell if they were high school or middle school age.

The first suspect is described as slight build, blonde curly hair. He was wearing jeans with a white belt, no shirt, and white tennis shoes. He had a yellow bandana around his neck and used newspaper to hide his face.

The second suspect is smaller with a heavier build and dark hair. He was wearing a dark blue t-shirt with a red logo on the front and tennis shoes. He used the foil mask to hide his face.

Sheriff Bean said the suspects appeared to be familiar with the school set up.

      There was no damage reported.
