Two people hospitalized after crash on M-72

Deputies say a truck lost control on black ice, drove over the centerline and hit a small SUV driving the other way.

M-72 west of Kalkaska was closed for about two hours Thursday afternoon after a car crash.

The crash occurred on M-72 and Valley Road west of Kalkaska.

Deputies say a truck lost control on black ice, drove over the centerline and hit a small SUV driving the other way.

Both drivers were taken to Munson Medical Center. The driver of the SUV had to be airlifted.

Deputies warned that even with temperatures warming up, drivers still need to be careful.
