Two teens behind bars for assaulting grandmother

The two suspects lived with the 60-year-old victim, their grandmother.

Two teenagers are behind bars in connection to the assault of an elderly woman.

According to Michigan State Police, an 18-year-old male and a 15-year-old male assaulted their 60-year-old grandmother with a BB gun in Isabella County.

Investigators said the suspects became upset that their grandmother had disabled their vehicle and left the keys in Clare County. Neither suspect has a valid driver's license.

According to Michigan State Police, there was a physical altercation and the juvenile pointed some kind of gun at the victim.

The victim agreed to take the suspects to a friend's house in Clare County to get the keys and a part.

Troopers said the second assault happened at the friend's home.

Troopers from the Mt. Pleasant Post are investigating the first incident. The Clare County Sheriff's Department is investigating the second incident.

The adult suspect is in the Isabella County Jail for resisting and obstructing police and operating in violation of a restricted license.

The juvenile was taken to an Isabella County juvenile facility and is facing charges for felonious assault, domestic violence, and resisting and obstructing police.

Additional charges are pending in Clare County.
