A bank manager in Mackinac County is charged with stealing from a U.P. State Credit Union branch.
Several cases of embezzlement at the Cedarville branch were reported in Jan. 2014.
Briana Freel, 40, of Cedarville, was arrested and arraigned in the 92nd District Court on five felony charges Wednesday.
Those charges include embezzlement over $50,000 but less than $100,000, forgery, use of a computer to commit a crime, larceny by false pretenses, as well as identity theft.
If Freel is found guilty, she could face up to 15 years in prison.
Before Freel was the Cedarville branch manager she was a loan officer.
The preliminary examination in the District Court was waived.
The Circuit Court arraignment is scheduled for June 19, 2014.
Freel is now free on bond.
