Veterinary clinic offering free rabies vaccines

MANISTEE, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Northern Michigan veterinary clinic is offering free rabies vaccinations to keep you and your dog healthy.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, 59,000 people across the globe die from the rabies virus each year.

Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday you can take your cat or dog into the Parkdale Animal Hospital in Manistee for a physical exam and vaccination.

The clinic is located off US-31 near the Manistee Meijer.

According to the clinic, humans can get the virus from animals so vaccinating pets is the easiest way to keep you and pets free from rabies.

The vaccinations are being offered as a part of World Rabies Day on Sept. 28.
