There is a Winter Storm Warning for Emmet, Cheboygan, Charlevoix, Otsego, Antrim, and Kalkaska Counties. Tonight and Wednesday the snow totals could be as high as 10 inches in some places in these counties.

There is a Winter Weather Advisory for the Upper Peninsula and everyone else along the I-75 corridor and westward to Lake Michigan in the Lower Peninsula. Snow totals here could be as high as 5 inches.

Tonight and Wednesday periods of snow will slow traffic and create visibility problems at times. Roads could be icy anywhere, but the greater snow totals will be west of I-75. This is a lake effect snow pattern so localized snow amounts over the next several days will vary greatly but some people could see 10 to 20 inches this week. Temperatures are falling and you should look for lows mostly in the teens and highs mostly in the 20s for the rest of the work week.

Wind will continue to gust to 40 mph tonight and up to 35 mph on Wednesday. This will create drifting, visibility issues and low wind chills. Wind chill temperatures, especially at night, could be in the single digits at times when you combine the effects of the wind and the temperature.

Snow showers will come and go all the way into early next week. Much of the next several days will be cloudy but at times some sun will break through.
