Woman accused of abusing 4-year-old while babysitting
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Grand Traverse County woman is charged with child abuse after officials say she got angry and pushed a 4-year-old against a wall.
Jessica Robertson, 21, of Fife Lake was arraigned Wednesday on 3rd degree child abuse.
The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office reports that Robertson was watching several children while their parents were out of town. Officials say at some point while driving, Robertson's wallet or purse was thrown out of a car window and she didn't realize this had happened until they got home.
After arriving home and finding out what happened, Robertson reportedly got angry and grabbed the 4-year-old boy and pushed him against a wall. Robertson then allegedly called the children's parents and said she had enough and they needed to find someone else to watch the kids. When a relative arrived and saw marks on the boy's upper arms and back police were called.
Robertson is scheduled for a probable cause conference October 25 and a preliminary exam on October 31.
