Woman accused of stabbing boyfriend with screwdriver
A 50-year-old woman was arrested after police say she stabbed her live-in boyfriend with a screwdriver.
The assault happened Thursday around 5:20 p.m. in Rolland Township.
According to Michigan State Police, the two had been in an argument over finances when the woman tried to remove the license plate from the car in the yard. Police said the car is in her name, but is typically driven by the man.
The man, 50, tried to make her stop by grabbing her hair and wrestling the screwdriver from her. She then used a second screwdriver to stab him in the arm and in the side.
The woman was held at the Isabella County Jail on an aggravated assault charge as well as for allowing an unlicensed/suspended person to drive.
The man was not arrested at the scene, but the State Police is seeking charges for domestic assault and driving with a suspended licenses.
The man refused medical treatment at the scene.
