Woman arrested for calling in bogus prescriptions
A 38-year-old Benzie County woman is under arrest after drug teams raided her home.
According to the Traverse Narcotics Team, Kristen Bennett's illegal activities caught the attention of the FBI and a concerned pharmacist who tipped off authorities.
Bennett was suspected of fraudulently obtaining prescription narcotics by posing a medical professional and calling the prescriptions into local pharmacies for herself.
When agents executed a search warrant on her Four Seasons Road home they say the found evidence of the prescriptions. It is estimated that in the past two months Bennett was able to get more than 730 pills.
She was arrested and was lodged at the Benzie County Jail. She was charged with fradulantly obtaining a controlled substance.
