Woman charged with stealing $10k in electronic dog collars, invisible fencing

Kathleen Kolb was arrested for stealing over $10,000 worth of electronic dog collars and invisible fencing.

An Isabella County woman was arrested for stealing over $10,000 worth of electronic dog collars and invisible fencing.

Kathleen Kolb was charged with first degree Retail Fraud today after being observed leaving the store with stolen collars and fencing on January 8. Kolb said she was stealing the items from the store and selling them on eBay.

The investigation into Kolb began on January 1 this year when Menard's workers alerted the police that she may have been stealing electronic dog collars from the store. An investigation revealed Kolb had been stealing from the store since October of 2012. Menard's estimated her thefts totaled over $10,000.

A preliminary exam is scheduled for March 28, 2013.
