A 37-year-old woman from Walhalla died in the hospital after attempting suicide twice on US-10.
Deputies from the Mason County Sheriff's Office were called to a two car, no injury crash on US-10 west of Walhalla near Budzynski Road in Branch Township.
The Ludington Daily News reports that the woman, who was driving a SUV made what looked like a deliberate move into an oncoming Kenworth Tractor. It was able to avoid hitting the SUV head-on, but did sideswipe it.
The Daily News reports the woman got out of the SUV and made comments to witnesses about trying to commit suicide. While witnesses tried to hold her back, she got away and ran into the highway where she was hit by a westbound pick-up truck.
According to the Sheriff's department, the woman was flown to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. She died overnight at the hospital.
