Woman facing assault charge after fight in Lake County
The woman accused of putting a man in critical condition after a fight in Lake County faced a judge Tuesday.
Kelly Burris, of Luther, was arraigned on one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
According to Lake County Sheriff Bob Hilts, Burris was trying to drive away after a domestic argument when the man jumped on the hood of her car.
Sheriff Hilts said the man was holding on to a windshield wiper as she drove away. When she turned the corner, the windshield wiper broke and the man was thrown from the car.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Burris will be back in court on November 5th.
