Woman killed in head-on crash identified
ANTRIM COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The identity of the woman killed in a head-on crash Tuesday night has been released.
The Antrim County Sheriff's Office identifies the victim as 68-year-old Heather Templin of Rapid City.
The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. at US-31 and South Bayshore Drive.
Sheriff Daniel Bean says Templin was the passenger in a Honda Fit when it swerved to avoid a KIA Sorento that crossed over the center line.
Templin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The at-fault driver was taken to Munson Medical Hospital for medical clearance and to have his blood-drawn. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated causing death, his name will be released once he is arraigned.
Investigators say alcohol is the factor in the crash and that everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
