Woman who crashed into Cheboygan school bus drunk is sentenced to jail
The woman who crashed into a Cheboygan school bus while drunk and drove away is facing a maximum sentencing on Friday.
Susan Banister will spend one year in jail and will have a suspended license for five years.
Banister will have to pay more than $1,000 in fines. Part of those fines, $500 will be paid in restitution fees to the Cheboygan area schools.
In May, Banister pleaded guilty to her second offense of operating with a suspended license and operating with a high blood alcohol content.
This is her fifth drunk driving offense.
