A year long investigation ended recently with the arrest of three Newaygo County men.
According to the United Forest Service and the State, Sheriff's Chief's Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT), officers arrested the trio as they were harvesting marijuana plants on federal land in Elden Township.
Plants were also taken from private property in Sherman and Freesoil Township in Mason County, as well as in Newaygo County. In total, 420 plants were seized.
Quinton Mosley, 56, Quinton Mosley Jr,, 33, and Daniel Whelpley, 34, from Hesperia were charged with manufacturing marijuana and conspiracy to manufacture marijuana when they were arraigned in 79th District Court in Ludington.
