Young singer/songwriter takes center stage

Sonya Shoup is an 11-year-old singer/songwriter. She performed an original song on 7&4 News Today.

7&4 News Today is kicking off a new summer segment showcasing talented kids around Northern Michigan.

Friday we heard from Sonya Shoup, a singer songwriter who is just 11 years old! She performed an original song with the help of her guitar instructor Ron Getz.

Sonya said she's been singing for as long as she can remember and started writing songs in April. She is producing her first CD which was created to pay for a trip with her choir. Sonya's CD will be out in mid-July.
