SANDUSKY, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- A fun, relaxing day off for many people at Cedar Point became a bit worrisome after witnesses said smoke was coming from a ride as part of the amusement park was without power.

According to witnesses, many people were on rides when the power went out. In one video, smoke could be seen coming the platform area of the Sky Ride around 2:15 p.m.

Riders were left stranded on some roller coasters and other rides for about two hours while crews worked to restore electricity.

According to reports, the approximately two-hour-outage was caused by a car crashing into a utility pole. Officials said the power company, Ohio Edison, worked to resolve the power outage as soon as possible as some park goers also posted photos of crews working on nearby power lines.
