      5th Annual Thunder at The River kicks off in Manistee

      It's all about honoring the United States Military and to raise awareness and financial support for military veterans.

      The 5th annual Thunder at the River, Salute to Veterans weekend kicks off on Friday.

      It's all about honoring the United States Military and to raise awareness and financial support for military veterans.

      Rolling Thunder Michigan Chapter 1 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154, along with fire departments, tribal, state and local police, bikers, car clubs, and community members will be helping to escort the Michigan Vietnam Memorial Wall to the Little River Casino Resort.

      The wall will be displayed June 20-22.

      The group will be meeting at the Manistee VFW Post, 1211 28th Street Manistee, Mi. 49660 at 2 p.m.. They will then leave the VFW post at 3 p.m. to ride and escort the memorial wall to the Little River Casino Resort, 2700 Orchard Highway Manistee, Mi..

      Ride Captain, Calvin Murphy, says they will then be riding from the casino to Ludington at 5 p.m. in honor of fallen Michigan State Police Trooper, Paul Butterfield. The Michigan State Police will be escorting the ride into Ludington.
