Boats on the Boardwalk, the antique and classic boat show kicked off in Traverse City Saturday.
Nearly 50 boats lined the parking lot, and canal of the Boardman River near the chamber of commerce off of Cass Street. Organizers say the event celebrates the great boating state of Michigan. The local Water Wonderland Chapter says the event also gives people an opportunity to see rare, old fashioned boats, with many built right here in Michigan.
"Everybody really enjoys putting the show on here in Traverse City," said Chairman for Boats on the Boardwalk, Richard DeBoer. " The response from the community is really good and everybody is very helpful and so we continue to put it on."
