Boyne City School officials decided not to outsource their cleaning staff for the upcoming school year.
The option to privatize cleaning services was proposed as a way to balance the budget and cut more than $500,000 before the end of June.
After looking at the budget, board members found that although they aren't where they want to be financially, they do have enough funds to support their current staff for the next school year.
Kingsley Schools faced similar issues with balancing the budget last year. A budget deficit led school officials to look into privatizing custodial, food services and bus staff. The district privatized food services in October, laying off 11 people.
