Brewery pours custom beer for foreign film series

Monday morning 7&4â??s Alyssa Hearin was live at the brewery to learn about the series of beers created to pair with foreign films.

A local brewing company and movie theater are partnering up to pair custom brews with award-winning foreign films in Benzie County.

Stormcloud Brewing Company is working with the historic Garden Theater in downtown Frankfort on the 2nd Annual Dark & Stormcloudy Film series.

Monday morning 7&4â??s Alyssa Hearin was live at the brewery to learn about the series of beers created to pair with foreign films.

Each month the beers will change.

Currently the Garden Theater is playing an award winning Russian film â??How I Ended This Summerâ?? with a Russian imperial stout.

Next month Stormcloud will feature a Scottish beer, and in March a Belgium film and brew will be paired.

â??Our hope is people just get out in the winter. We're providing somewhat of a unique setting to do that, have a great beer, nice meal, go to a historical theater and enjoy a foreign film. Not too many places are doing that around Michigan,â?? says Co-Owner Rick Schmitt.

Tickets for the movie series are $7. You can buy them at the theater or Stormcloud Brewing Company and you receive a $5 token to the brewery.
