Fire crews were busy Saturday night battling a brush fire that was burning near a Traverse City mobile home park.
The Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department says the fire started around 4:30pm Saturday afternoon at a community brush pile, located inside the King's Court mobile home park, which is off Lafranier Road in Traverse City.
The brush pile was about one acre in size but was very deep, which caused it to burn for several hours. Fire crews had to bring in an excavator to move around the brush so they could put out all of the hot-spots.
Authorities are still investigating a cause but say the dry, hot weather could be to blame or a person may be responsible.
