A Cadillac business is destroyed after a massive fire ripped through it Monday night.
Fire crews responded to Cadillac Truck Service on South 39 Road in Cadillac at around 9:30 Monday night.
Nearly 70 firefighters, from four surrounding departments, spent more than 11 challenging hours battling the blaze.
Authorities say this wasn't an easy fire to combat and they had to use extra precautions because of the gallons of oil that were inside the facility.
Haring Fire Chief Duane Alworden says, â??The first truck arrived on scene and already the fire was through the roof, a large ball of fire was already up through there. At that point, we went into defensive fire-- we knew we werenâ??t going to send anyone inside, it was going to be done by elevated streams.
Early investigation shows that the fire started in the front office; however it will take crews several days to come up with an exact cause.
Owner of Cadillac Truck Service Richard Bosscher says he is overwhelmed by the community support. He says, "My phone started ringing at 7:00am this morning, with offers from business associates, even competitors for help, its great to be part of a small community."
Bosscher also says they put together a plan, to get the repair-part of the business up and running by Monday. He says you can still contact their telephone number to schedule service.
