Charlevoix students get new tool in classroom
Students in the Charlevoix Public School District have received a new learning tool for the classroom.
For the first time, every single student in the district has an iPad as part of the district's 1:1 iPad initiative.
The initiative is being paid for with money from a technology bond passed in 2008.
In budget meetings last year, the school board approved more than $380,000 from the bond to be placed towards this effort.
District leaders hope this effort will give students an edge in the classroom and they also hope to see savings in printing and book costs.
Charlevoix is the third district in Charlevoix County to establish a 1:1 initiative. Boyne City and East Jordan launched their's last year.
