The Father Fred Foundation is kicking off its 20th annual Frostbite Food Drive Friday. The goal is to fill three semi-trucks with canned goods and cash donations to help feed families in need across Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau and Kalkaska Counties.
Starting February 7 and running through February 16, Father Fred will be collecting non-perishable food items for its food pantry. Last year, donations collected through the Frostbite Food Drive provided enough food to feed close to 57,000 adults and children in the Grand Traverse region.
In addition to collecting food, the Father Fred Frostbite Food Drive also includes a donation match challenge, where donations and cash will be matched dollar for dollar. The match is currently at $50,000.
The donation sites for the Father Fred Frostbite Food Drive include:
Traverse City Area:
800 block of S. Garfield
Fox Grand Traverse
US 31 South
Family Fare at Chums Corners
Oleson's at Three Mile & Hammond
Tom's in Acme
