Community members march against child abuse

Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center hosted the event that started at the State Theatre and later continues through downtown Traverse City where more than 100 community members marched for the movement.

The Traverse City community banned together Sunday afternoon to help raise awareness about child abuse for the third annual Zero Tolerance for Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention event.

Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center hosted the event that started at the State Theatre and later continued through downtown Traverse City where more than 100 community members marched for the movement.

"It's meant to be a community driven grass roots effort to bring our community together to protect children from child sexual abuse and other forms of abuse," said TBCAC Executive Director, Brooke Nettz.

The parade ended at the Open Space with a celebration that included games, prizes, and music.

Traverse City Coast Guard flew a helicopter over the carnival and the Traverse City Fire Department was there giving tours of their trucks.
