A new 12,000 square foot building is in the works for a busy intersection in Traverse City. The Larkin Group of Traverse City is planning to build it's new headquarters at the intersection of M-72 West and Grandview Parkway.
The insurance and financial services firm bought the property which is located between Tom's West Bay and Holiday Gas Station back in August 2012. Right now there's a house on the land but that will be removed and a three-story office building will be built in it's place where more than 30 employees will work. The new headquarters will combine both the lake Leelanau and Traverse City offices into one centralized location.
"The community has done a lot for us, so we want to continue to give back and we think that the location will be very strategic for our two offices to combine into one. It will benefit Leelanau County and Grand Traverse County customers. It's going to give the customers a better experience, a nicer location, and will allow us to better serve the community," says Bryan Taggart, Larkin Group Principal.
Construction crews are hoping to start work in about two to three weeks. The building is set to be complete and employees will move-in by March 2014.
