The 2014 Up North Lake and Cottage Show brought more than 90 vendors and crowds of customers from all over Michigan to the Grand Traverse County Civic Center this weekend.
Vendors ranged from landscapers to furniture retailers, covering all cottage needs.
The show serves as a celebration of the "Up North" lifestyle and it saw great success this year.
"We've had a fabulous weekend, a lot of people through," said Andrew MacDonald, the Cottage Show organizer. "One new thing that we saw this year: a very strong regional pull. We had folks coming up from Detroit, Grand Rapids, some folks from the U.P., so this year in particular, we seemed to draw from a very wide range."
MacDonald credits a recovering economy for the show's success.
"I just think people are ready to complete that project. We're still bouncing off the '08-'09 economic downturn, if you will, and we're pretty far removed from that. I think people who have sat on projects are just thinking it's time to make it happen."
