The sun is shining and snow guns are blasting in Thompsonville as Crystal Mountain Resort gets ready to open!
After over fifty years of providing winter fun, the resort is prepping for the winter season. Although temperatures have been mild during the day, our lows at night have enabled all one hundred and thirty snow guns to be blasting away during the overnight hours - ensuring great conditions for hitting the slopes!
The resort hopes the pleasant weather will bring plenty of snow bunnies out to the mountain. Crystal Mountain's Director of Skier Servies, Mike Cote, stated, "We're certainly off to a slower start than we'd like to be, but there's a lot of pent up demand out there and people are excited to come skiing even on just the slopes we'll have available. We're making snow every chance that we can and we're looking forward to getting open with nice conditions for the holiday season."
Crystal Mountain fires up the lifts at 10am Friday morning with the Cheers slope, parts of Tuck's Terrain Park, and Totem Park opening. The resort plans to open more as weather permits.
