      The 19th annual Smart Commute Week kicks off Monday.

      The 19th annual Smart Commute Week kicks off Monday.

      The week-long celebration of smart commuting is used to encourage people to try biking, sharing rides, and using public transportation to get to and from work.

      In Traverse City, Smart Commute Week is coordinated throught TART Trails .

      Each morning a commuter breakfast will be served from 7am-9am:Monday:Higher Grounds, 806 Red Drive at Grand Traverse CommonsPangeaâ??s Pizza, 135 E. Front St.Tuesday:Munson Medical Center lawn just south of the Emergency Entrance on Elmwood St.Munson Community Health Center Front, 550 Munson AveWednesday:BATA Transit Center, 115 Hall St.The Kitchen, 1249 Woodmere Ave.Thursday:NW MI Autism Resource Network & NMC host at Oak Park Elementary Garfield Ave @ W. Civic Center Dr.The Disability Network, 415 E. 8th StFriday:Oryana Natural Market & Cone Drive, 260 E. Tenth St.

      You can also give back to the community and support the trails by donating blood. Michigan Blood will donate $10 to TART Trails for each person that makes an appointment to donate blood Monday, June 10 and Tuesday, June 11.
