Engines rev up for Father Fred

Some very generous bikers are once again getting ready to benefit the Father Fred Foundation in Traverse City. Early Saturday morning the Northern Chapter Harley Owners Group or HOG met up in Traverse City to start registration for the 20th Annual Ride For Father Fred.

The two-day event started with a poker run followed by a motorcycle show until 8 o'clock Saturday evening in downtown Traverse City.

Over the years the group has raised $200 thousand for the foundation. This year they're goal is to raise between $15 and $20 thousand dollars for Father Fred.

Sunday is the day of the actual ride where hundreds of bikers will take to the roadways in a police-led procession from Classic Motor Sports near Chum's Corner to the tip of Old Mission Peninsula all to benefit the Father Fred Foundation.

There is a $20 registration fee to take part in the event.
