Food market dedicates day to help out some furry friends
A Traverse City food market helped out their local furry friends Saturday, by inviting pet lovers out for a fun filled tail wagging day.
It was the first ever Furry Friends Day at Oryana Natural Foods Market in Traverse City. AC Paw and the Cherryland Humane Society were there, along with some of their furry friends who were searching for their forever homes.
There were demonstrations for doggy physical therapy, dog massages, and plenty of specials on some healthy pet food. Organizers say it's an important event that is all about raising awareness for pets.
"Pets are people too and it's important to give pets the proper nutrition, exercise, and holistic care," said Oryana Marketing Coordinator, Flo Christopher.
Christopher says that with the success of this years event, they plan to hold another Furry Friends Day next year.
Oryana donated a percentage of Saturday's sales to AC Paw and the Cherryland Humane Society.
