Grand Traverse County Parks and Rec seeks public feedback

The Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking the public's feedback on community programs.

The Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation Department wants to hear from the public about programs that they would like to see in the area.

The department put out a survey in November, but responses got off to a slow start.

Parks and Recreation Director Jason Jones believes that the survey gives the government a chance to connect with the community.

"What we found out from the public in previous studies that we've had is they want better communication from local units of government, and Parks and Recreation providers, but they also wanted to see more programming, so this is really an opportunity for us to learn exactly what the communities want, community wants," said Jones. "We really don't have any pre-conceived notion with what programs may be offered, or even who's going to offer them.
