Homeless man damages shelter in argument over phone charger
A man has been arrested after being involved in an altercation while staying at a Safe Harbor shelter Grand Traverse County.
According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's office, a 44-year-old man caused an estimated $200 worth of damage to Bay Pointe Community Church, the Safe Harbor location Thursday night. After arriving by cab, the man got into an argument with another Safe Harbor patron and began acting aggressively over a missing phone charger.
The man then kicked an 8 inch hole in the wall at the church. Authorities were called and the man was arrested for malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct.
Volunteers at Safe Harbor said it appeared the man had been drinking. His bond is scheduled to be set this afternoon.
