Kelli Stapleton waives right to preliminary hearing
The Benzie County woman accused of trying to kill herself and her teenage daughter in September appeared back in court Thursday morning.
Kelli Stapleton signed her name in the Benzie County courtroom as she waived her right to a preliminary hearing.
Benzie County Prosecutor, Sara Swanson, requested that Stapleton's bond remain at $1.5 million but her Stapleton's attorneys argued that it be reduced. Judge John Mead denied the attorneys' request. Stapleton remains in the Benzie County Jail.
The case was was sent over to the circuit court. The next court date has not been set yet.
Stapleton is facing attempted murder charges after she allegedly attempted to kill herself and her daughter, Isabelle.
