Local kids got to be artist for a day, all to help support Mother Nature in the upcoming Earth Day Parade.
Traverse City's Blackbird Arts provided the location for dozens of kids to put their art skills to the test for Little Artshram's final Earth Day workshop on Sunday. The kids made and painted paper-mache masks and giant puppets that will be featured in the 2013 Grand Traverse Earth Day Parade. The theme this for the parade this year is 'Seeds! Awesome Vessels of Power.'
"What we're doing is celebrating," said Penny Krebiehl from Little Artshram. "This parade this year we're celebrating seeds and the fact that they are amazing, awesome vessels of power."
Little Artshram also brought in George Meyer, puppet artist from Eureka Springs Arkansas, who assisted with helping the kids make their creations during the workshop.
