The Leelanau County Parks and Recreation Department held a public hearing this afternoon to finalize a five-year plan.
The plan focuses on how the county will manage parks and spells out specific goals the department has for those parks over the next five years.
By listing the goals - such as building new trails and plans on keeping fish-ponds stocked - the department becomes eligible to receive grants.
After hearing from community members over the past month, the Parks and Rec. commission members voted on the plan this afternoon - and with only one vote against it, the plan now moves on to the county commissioners.
The county will examine the plan at their meeting next month.
