On Tuesday, April 2, Traverse City will join the rest of Michigan to "Light it up Blue" for autism awareness. The national campaign encourages people to wear blue in support of autism research.
A party will be held at ECCO in downtown Traverse City, Tuesday night at 6pm, followed by a walk where the Open Space will be lit up blue. Proceeds from the event will benefit the TCAPS iPads for Autism program.
The Mackinac Bridge will also be lit up blue for the entire month of April.
Brandy Wheeler, the founder of the Scavenger Hunt for Autism stopped by 7&4 News to talk about the event.
