Making dreams come true with dream rooms and a helping hand
We are proud to be participating in a major fundraiser for Northwest Michigan Child and Family Services, which works to provide services for a network of member and cooperating agencies that promote the emotional and social well-being of Northwest Michigan's children and families.
Golden Fowler Home Furnishings in Traverse City has teamed up with NW Michigan Child and Family Services for the past couple of years, and again this year, for a Celebrity Dreamroom Classic to raise much needed funds for Child and Family Services. Five different couples from the area, including myself and my wife Sara are designing a different theme inspired room with the help of a Golden Fowler interior designer. Our room is Great Lakes themed. Folks are then encouraged to "vote" for what they believe to be the best room. Each vote costs $1 and every single dollar, 100% of the proceeds raised go directly to Child and Family Services.
This Friday, Valentine's Night is when it all comes together when the public is invited to stop in at Golden Fowler and spend an evening supporting local children and families. It's a casual night, so come as you are! There will be a festive atmosphere with some of the area's best local food, wine, and craft beer on hand including from Black Star Farms and Right Brain Brewery. All five rooms will have live music on hand, there will be abundant door prizes, and in our room, we are bringing the 7&4 Weather Green Screen where you can do the weather with me for a small donation. All in all, it is going to be a fun night to remember and all of it supports such a beneficial asset to our area in Northwest Michigan Child and Family Services.
Tickets to Friday night's event are $25/person or if you make it a couple's night $40/couple. Any donations or "votes" for our or any other rooms can be dropped off at Golden Fowler in person which is located at 1137 South Garfield Avenue in Traverse City with a zipcode of 49686 or they can be mailed to Golden Fowler. Cash or checks are accepted and if you would like to contribute, make any checks out to NW MI Child and Family Services with a note that the votes are for Joe's room.
Attached is video from 7&4 News Today where Mike Mahn, the owner of Golden Fowler and Linda Sommerville of Northwest Michigan Child and Family Services talked about the event and how it benefits local families. Any donation is appreciated and if you can attend Friday night, I look forward to seeing you there!
