Another suspect has been arrested in connection with the stabbing assault in a laundry room on Northwestern Michigan College's campus last month.
Traverse City police say 21-year-old Ashley Day set up the drug deal and 17-year-old Alyssa Rodriquez drove to and from the college. Police say they set up the fake drug deal so that the rest of the suspects could steal drugs from 35-year-old Dwight Thompson. Police believe they would then sell those drugs for money.
Thompson was jumped by three men, hit over the head with a machete, stabbed in the left arm and also in the back. Police were told the machete was thrown in a dumpster, but when they tried to recover the weapon it had already been removed.
