The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's office is releasing limited details about a device found Monday morning that is being called "suspicious." It was found around 7:15 AM at Cherry Growers Inc. in Grawn.
According to the Sheriff's office, the device is described as a 3 foot long cylinder with a fuse sticking out. A similar smaller device was also found. Authorities say the device does not contain any explosive type charge and could be considered more of a "prop," or something that was fashioned to look like an explosive device.
Investigators say they plan on interviewing more witnesses and following up on any tips received regarding the incident.
The question as to how this device got into the building is still unclear. Cherry Growers Inc. is offering a reward for anyone who has information on this case.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office at 231-995-5002 or use the Silent Observer Line at 231-947-TIPS.
