National anthem closes 9/11 memorial ceremony in Traverse City

Ceremonies were going on all over northern Michigan today as hundreds came out to honor the victims of the September 11 attacks.

The Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department hosted a memorial ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial Park in Traverse City this morning. Jack O'Malley from WTCM emceed the ceremoney and United States Coast Guard Commander Sean Cross shared a personal and inpirational speech about that day.

A steel floor beam directly from the Wold Trade Center's North Tower is on display at the park 24 hours a day as a way for people to stop and reflect about the tragic events of that day.
