National Writers Series announces fall line-up

Book lovers are taking note of the list of bestselling authors ready to take center stage with the National Writers Series in Traverse City.
The National Writers Series is announcing its fall line-up which includes New York Times bestselling authors, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, book reviewers, national news and magazine editors, and a poet who was giving the title of "Living Legend".
Benjamin Percy will take part in the NWS on Sept. 5.
Percy will be joined on stage with guest host Jeremiah Chamberlin. Percy is the author of two novels, Red Moon and The Wilding. Guest host Jeremiah Chamberlin is the Associate Director of the English Department Writing Program at the University of Michigan and a Contributing Editor for Poets & Writers Magazine.
Michael Paterniti will join host Doug Stanton for the NWS on Sept. 27.
Paterniti is the New York Times bestselling author of Driving Mr. Albert: A Trip Across America with Einstein's Brain and the newly released The Telling Room. Doug Stanton is the author of New York Times bestsellers In Harm's Way and Horse Soldiers.
Jamie Ford and guest host Rich Fahle will take part in the NWS on Sept. 30.
Ford is New York Times bestselling author of Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. His newest book, Songs of Willow Frost hits shelves Sept. 10, 2013. Guest host Rich Fahle is the Founder and CEO of Astral Road Author Media and Bibliostar.TV.
David Finkel and host Doug Stanton will take center stage with the NWS on Oct. 14.
Finkel is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist who won acclaim for his book The Good Soldiers. Finkel's forthcoming book is titled Thank You For Your Service.
Nikki Giovanni will join guest host Leigh Haber on Oct. 30.
Giovanni has been called an American icon and an Oprah "Living Legend". Giovanni is the author of 27 books including The Collected Poems of Nikki Giovanni, Creation and Love Poems. Leigh Haber is Books Editor for O, the Oprah Magazine, where she oversees the Reading Room.
Sara Paretsky joins guest host Nancy Baker for the NWS on Nov. 5.
Paretsky is the author of more than 15 novels including Indemnity Only and Critical Mass. Guest host Nancy Baker serves as Program Director of Evanston Scholars in Evanston, Illinois and National Writers Series board member.
Tickets for all NWS events go on sale to Friends of NWS at noon Aug. 20. Tickets for the general public go on sale Aug. 27.
