Pancake breakfast benefits northern Michigan veterans

Folks enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast Sunday morning in hopes of supporting military veterans in northern Michigan.
The breakfast was put on by the Saint Patrick Men's Club, and raised money to benefit the Reining Liberty Ranch in Traverse City.
The ranch is a non-profit organization that enriches the lives of military veterans and their families thru a farm and ranch atmosphere with the help of the Grand Traverse Horses for Heroes program.
The program also offers horse therapy for children with autism and other emotional and behavioral disorders.
"We just let them do the things that they do," said organizer, Jim Scrivener. "Which seems to be good. Helping veterans and children with autism and stuff like that so it just takes some of the pressure off them. So whatever we can do it's a help."
The pancake breakfast is just one of nine that the Saint Patrick Men's club puts on each year.
