PEACE Ranch draws in dozens of new volunteers

PEACE Ranch promotes an equine-assisted counseling program.

About 50 people showed up for the PEACE Ranch volunteer orientation Saturday, which was a larger number than organizers expected on a holiday weekend.

PEACE Ranch rehabilitates horses from throughout the Midwest and uses them to implement an equine-assisted counseling and therapy program for people who have faced a traumatic life experience.

Volunteers have a wide range of opportunities to help with: from tending to the horses and other animals, to helping clean and build structures on the ranch.
