PEACE Ranch draws in dozens of new volunteers

PEACE Ranch promotes an equine-assisted counseling program.

About 50 people showed up for the PEACE Ranch volunteer orientation Saturday, which was a larger number than organizers expected on a holiday weekend.

PEACE Ranch rehabilitates horses from throughout the Midwest and uses them to implement an equine-assisted counseling and therapy program for people who have faced a traumatic life experience.

Volunteers have a wide range of opportunities to help with: from tending to the horses and other animals, to helping clean and build structures on the ranch.

If you would like more information on PEACE Ranch or couldn't make it to Saturday's volunteer orientation, but would still like to help out, you can get in touch with the organization here.
