Phil's mad for Morel mushrooms!
"Please don't try this at home. This is very dangerous," said Chef Phil Murray, Owner of Phil's on Front in Traverse City. "But I've been practicing for 37 years... So here we go!"

This week Phil is showing you how to prepare and cook Morel mushrooms:
Salt and pepper to taste
Soak the mushrooms in a bowl of lightly salted water to rid of bugs and dirt. Then drain.
Get a 10-inch saute pan hot.
Add butter to coat pan. Once it starts to sizzle, add the mushrooms. Saute for a minute or two. Add salt and pepper. Saute for another minute. Next, add brandy, and let flame.
"Woah," said Phil. "Once the flame shoots up, and the alcohol cooks off, you add a little bit of cream, and that's your gravy right there."
Let simmer for about one minute. Place on plate and serve!
"Nice Morel mushrooms," said Phil. "Yummy, yummy."
